Klyka

When asked to design an organically-shaped pendant light for Ifö Electric I immediately turned towards nature, and what I love most there. Trees.

I thought about light that falls between branches.

That feeling.

I work as an artist and I have had my studio in the Ifö factory area for nine years, where I work with clay, plaster and porcelain in different ways. I can pick and choose among elements and shapes, am exposed to various industrial processes. I follow the idea, through design and development, to the final product. It's incredibly inspirational.

It’s fascinating to see a living material, porcelain, work within an industrial process, and become aware of the incredible craftsmanship that lies behind. Klyka is a work made in cooperation with Ifö Electric and Ifö Sanitär, from paper sketch to 3-D design, forming the mold, and finally resulting in shimmering light radiating among its branches.
